Turmeric Face Mask & Tea Tree Oil Face Scrub│DIY

F or the past weeks I've been trying out home made face masks and scrubs, most of what I've tried out has worked for me. You know, nutmeg, egg whites, cinnamon, oatmeal... I really like doing some research on what the ingredients are good for and which benefits I'm getting from them. I'll try to post every single one I've done so far, let me start with these two: Tea Tree Oil Face Scrub & Turmeric Face Mask.

Above you can see the items I used, including the Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash, to start off with a clean face. Afterwards I applied the scrub, massaged it for a few minutes and then rinsed off. Finally I applied the Turmeric face mask and left it on for about half and hour. Though, 20 minutes is more that enough.

Tea tree oil is known for its antiseptic, antifungal and antibiotic properties. It has many benefits from soothing itching and irritation from bug bites, skin infections and it even works against dandruff! It is also a natural remedy to cure pimples as it acts as a disinfectant and soothes the skin. I use this scrub to prevent breakouts and keep my skin clear, it leaves my skin feeling soft and exfoliated.  If I need a quick fix for a pimple I gently dab a tiny amount of tea tree oil directly on the afected area.

Here's what you'll need:

- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of raw honey
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 3-5 drops of tea tree oil

Once you've mixed all of the ingredients, gently scrub your face with the mixture for 5 minutes. Remember to do it gently as sugar may scratch your skin.

Ingredients:

Sugar - acts as a gentle exfoliator without leaving residue that might clog pores, it has moisturizing properties that prevent skin from drying.
Honey - contains antibacterial properties, attracts moisture and is full of antioxidants.
Olive Oil - works as a cleanser, moisturizer and is full of vitamin A and vitamin E, these antioxidants help restore skin elasticity.
Tea Tree Oil - has powerful antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties.

To finish off right, there is the face mask. Turmeric is very popular amongst Indian brides, as they use it to brighten skin before their weddings. The spice is high in antioxidants that slow cell damage, has anti-inflammatory properties that help with acne, dry skin, psoriasis and eczema.

How to make your own turmeric face mask:

First mix the following ingredients

- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt (or milk)
- 1/2 tablespoon of honey

Apply a thin layer of the mixture onto your face and leave it on until it dries (the thicker the paste/layer, the longer it will take to dry) Then rinse with lukewarm water and follow with a moisturizer. At first, it might seem like the yellow pigment won't come off your face, but don't panic. It will :)

Hope you have fun doing these! As a tip, I recommend doing a test on skin with the two main ingredients as sensitive skin may suffer from side effects.

No FUN - 2 Looks│Style

H ey guys! I've been blogging every.single.day! I'm happy about that. I finally have some more spare time so I can do it :) Today was so windy and a bit chilly, but I didn't check out the weather forecast so I improvised. I'm always borrowing my boyfriend's clothes cause I love how they look on me, oversized but not too much. I still haven't worn actual "boyfriend jeans" cause the fit is really weird. The girls version of boyfriend jeans are way better, I think I'll stick with that. On other note, I got my fourth tattoo on tuesday, I really like black (non-coloured) tattoos and simple lines, I got a map tattoo this time because I love traveling and seeing new places. I've been lucky enough to travel to a few places and I think it has opened my mind and I just love meeting new people and learning from other cultures. Anyway, I came up with two different outfits today, both wearing the exact same things. Either layering or removing items to create different looks. I'd say they're both "street style" looks but one is obviously more relaxed than the other. Which one do you like best?

MY FIRST HAUL │Spring Collective Haul

I was always a fan of hauls on youtube, but I never really did one myself. UNTIL TODAY! I thought I'd keep you posted on a few things I got recently. I've always loved floral prints and pastel colours. Not only for spring and summer but I think they're lovely and look great all year round! I also got two small bags from Mango and a very useful backless bra. I'll be posting outfits for the next few weeks with what I got :) All links down below:

Klorane Dry Shampoo│Haircare

D ry shampoo is a thing I don't completely understand. Maybe that's because my hair doesn't need any oil-absorbing spray at the moment. My hair has been dry for the past 2 months so the only thing I truly need right now is deep conditioning. Although sometimes I need dry shampoo between washes. Otherwise my hair would be all gross and stuff. My hair dresser recommended I'd try this, the award winning, hyped up dry shampoo. Klorane is a well known french brand so I figured I'd try it out. It is made with softening oat milk extracts and rice starch (meant to absorb oil) The scent is very deodorant like, not my favourite but at least it smells clean. When my roots get oily I spray it all over and immediately start to work it through the middles but never the ends of my hair as I don't need to soak oil there. What I'm looking for on a dry shampoo is a non- residue product, and unfortunately this one leaves stuff behind and it only makes me want to wash it more often. It works for a few hours but after a while I feel like my scalp is dirtier than even before spraying it. Maybe it's just me but I like the feeling of a squeaky clean scalp. I still rather using a cleansing conditioner rather than dry shampoo, but that's because my hair needs conditioning and not oil soaking products. I read about Amika's dry shampoo not containing Aluminium, so I might try that one next :)

March Beauty Favourites

A little late for last month's favourites but here are a few bits I've been loving lately. Most things are japanese ^^ Majolica Majorca is a brand I discovered when I was in Japan and I absolutely love it! It's owned by Shiseido, so quality is good. I've also been loving Dolly Wink lashes, but I'll do a different post on them :)

Seche Vite Top Coat ($7.12 at CVS) simply the best top coat. Makes my nails look and feel as if I've done it at the nail salon.
American Apparel Nail Laquer in L'Espirit ($6.00) perfect shade for spring, a creamy pastel lavender.
Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek Blush in OR 302 (1,404円) a matte orange/apricot blush. The texture is smooth and blends easily. The finish is very natural and easiest to apply with the cute puff applicator.
Majolica Majorca Mascara Lash Expander Edge Meister  (1,296円) when I first tried this mascara I though what on earth is this? but now I can't stop wearing it! The Edge Meister is a liquid lengthening mascara and it comes with a small flat brush. It also contains fibers that seem like hair, which creates the illusion of fuller lashes. I will do a full review on this mascara :)
Revlon Matte Lipbalm in shade Sultry ($8.99) this brown- pink shade is so flattering on my lips and I can't stop wearing it! I combine it sometimes with brick or brown lip liner for a deeper, darker shade.
Canmake Stay-on Balm Rogue in shade 1 Rosier Rose (550) this lovely balm contains honey, shea butter, royal jelly extract, jojoba oil, olive oil, rosehip oil, grapeseed oil, macadamia nut oil and pomegranate oil, phew! it's perfect for dry lips and it's fairly pigmented. The shade is described as a delicate, pretty rose pink but i find it more of a muted pink. Lovely, nonetheless.

Weekly Wishlist│1

I 'm so excited for spring AND summer this year! I'm going to Lollapalooza for the first time ever! and the best part is I'm flying out there with my better half <3 Okay, enough about that now, I made a rather HUGE wishlist on some items I've been eyeing for a while. I've always been a floral print type of girl or any lovely prints for that matter. Also, denim has been my go- to choice as it is SO easy to style and forever in fashion. Also, I don't own a single floppy hat and since my hair is such a pain to take care of lately, I'm in need of one. High waisted shorts / skirts, rompers and dresses will be all I'll be wearing this season :) What's on your wishlist?
